Miniature Bulls (Male)
Size Matters – Miniature bulls are smaller than standard bulls but can still be strong and require good fencing.
- Temperament – Some breeds, like Mini Herefords and Dexters, are known for their docile nature. Always choose a bull with a calm temperament.
- Breeding Considerations – If breeding, select a bull with good genetics to maintain small size, good meat/milk traits, and healthy offspring.
- AI vs. Natural Breeding – Artificial insemination (AI) is an option if you don’t want to keep a bull year-round.
Miniature Cows (Female)
- Milk Production – Mini Jerseys or Dexters are great if you want milk.
- Calving Ease – Miniature cows usually have fewer birthing issues than full-size cattle, but it’s still important to monitor them.
- Breeding Cycles – Cows come into heat every 21 days and can be bred around 2 years old.
